Medical Transcriptionist (Part-Time)

Our firm's Healthcare Services Team is seeking a detail oriented part-time Medical Transcriptionist to support attorneys and case managers by accurately transcribing medical records, provider notes, and related documentation. This role will be fully remote and ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced, accuracy driven environment and is comfortable working with sensitive medical and legal information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe medical dictations, provider notes, and clinical summaries with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Review, edit, and format transcribed documents to meet internal quality standards and legal case requirements.

  • Interpret medical terminology, abbreviations, and clinical language to ensure clarity and consistency.

  • Maintain organized records of completed transcripts and manage workflow within established deadlines.

  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and case managers to clarify terminology or missing information when needed.

  • Uphold strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and firm privacy policies.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a medical transcriptionist, medical scribe, or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and common clinical documentation formats.

  • Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency with transcription software, word processing tools, and secure document management systems.

  • Experience working in a legal or healthcare legal environment is a plus but not required.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Remote position (Applicant must reside in one of the following states: IL, WI, IN, MO, or OH)

  • Flexible part time hours.

  • Workload may vary depending on case volume and deadlines.

  • Requires reliable internet access and a secure, private workspace.
