Position Overview

We're hiring a part-time Web Designer to support our growing team, with the potential to move into a full-time role after an initial 3-month contract.

This role is perfect for a designer who brings both craft and care to their work, and who thrives in collaborative, mission-aligned environments.

You’ll work across various stages of our website process—from strategy and concept to design and basic implementation. We’re looking for someone who blends visual creativity with systems thinking and who’s excited to improve their craft alongside a nimble, thoughtful team.

This position will be contracted for 20-30 hours a week with an evaluation to hire full-time at the 3-month mark.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design responsive, user-friendly, and brand-aligned websites in Figma

  • Create polished, cohesive design systems—from color palettes and typography to layout and interaction

  • Translate client goals into wireframes, mockups, and prototypes

  • Collaborate with developers, content strategists, project managers and clients to bring concepts to life

  • Help improve internal systems, templates, and design processes

  • Stay on top of modern design trends, tools, and accessibility best practices

Your Skills

  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Understanding of UI/UX principles, responsive design, and design systems

  • Experience creating sitemaps and wireframes

  • Strong grasp of color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy

  • Comfortable using visual website builders (Webflow a plus)

  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge

  • Experience managing multiple projects and timelines

  • Accessibility expertise (WCAG basics, semantic structure)

  • Experience in agency settings or with client-facing communication

  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals

  • Oregon-based or aligned with the Pacific Northwest mindset
