About the Role

IvyWise is seeking a Part-Time Undergraduate College Admissions Counselor to work directly with a limited number of students during the admissions cycle. This role is designed for experienced admissions professionals who want to remain active in student advising without assuming a full-time caseload or broader firm-wide responsibilities.

Part-time counselors focus primarily on direct student guidance and application execution, while participating selectively in collaboration and team engagement as required during peak admissions periods.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one college admissions guidance to high school students (grades 8–12)

  • Support students through application strategy and execution, including college selection, essays, and positioning

  • Offer informed, ethical guidance grounded in prior admissions decision-making experience

  • Participate in select case discussions or peer reviews during the admissions season

  • Maintain timely, professional communication with students, families, and IvyWise colleagues

  • Complete required documentation and time tracking related to assigned students

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

  • Minimum of three (3) years of direct experience in the undergraduate admissions office of a highly selective U.S. college or university, with responsibility for application review

  • Experience advising high school students through the college admissions process

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organization and attention to detail

  • Professional discretion and commitment to confidentiality

  • Reliability, accountability, and ethical judgment

Preferred Background

  • Experience in a selective high school or private college counseling setting

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree from a highly selective U.S. institution

  • Prior experience reviewing STEM and Arts applicants

  • Experience working with international students and families

  • Multilingual candidates encouraged (Spanish, French, Portuguese, or Mandarin)

Work Expectations

  • Part-time, remote role with a defined and limited caseload

  • Flexibility required: evening and weekend availability especially during peak admissions seasons, to align with our clients’ availability

  • Participation in required seasonal team meetings
