The Role
We're hiring a Senior Product Development Manager on a part-time, contract basis to independently own and lead our product development function. You will be accountable for building, fitting, and scaling products that meet our standards on timeline, cost, and quality. This role demands deep technical expertise in fabrics and manufacturing, strong supplier negotiation, and a disciplined approach to process and documentation. Remote-friendly, but you must be NY-based for fittings and in-person collaboration.
Scope Highlights
Manage end-to-end product development from concept through production, ensuring feasibility, scalability, and efficiency
Partner with suppliers to evaluate construction, fabric, and cost trade-offs; negotiate best-fit solutions for speed, quality, and price
Oversee fit sessions in partnership with fit technicians; ensure tech packs are accurately updated, fit comments fully documented, and factories clearly understand and can execute requirements
Maintain accurate documentation and traceable records across development, fitting, and production stages
Work with production and planning teams to optimize material use, repurpose leftovers, and implement shared components
Rigorously manage budgets — spend only as needed, stay under monthly targets, and prioritize ROI-driven decisions
Issue and release production orders; coordinate shipment audits with third-party agencies; resolve problems with urgency and accountability
Seek opportunities to introduce tools and processes that move the organization away from scrappy workarounds toward a refined, scalable product development workflow
What You'll Do
Manage product development from design handoff through production
Partner with fit technicians; oversee fit sessions, update tech packs, and ensure factories can execute requirements
Negotiate with suppliers on feasibility, scalability, and cost
Maintain disciplined documentation and data accuracy throughout development
Work with production/planning to optimize materials and minimize waste
Manage development budgets with ROI-driven decision making
Identify and introduce tools and processes to replace scrappy workflows
Requirements What You'll Bring
Deep technical knowledge of fabrics, construction, and manufacturing
Experience leading fittings and working closely with fit technicians
Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
Proven ability to issue/release production orders and coordinate shipment audits
Highly process-driven with strong attention to detail and documentation
Budget-minded, agile decision maker with experience in scrappy, fast-changing environments
