Marketing and Communications Director (Contract, Freelance)

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Marketing & Communications Coordinator to lead the marketing/fundraising efforts for our organization's annual fundraiser. This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of campaign communication, overseeing online registration with our event platform vendor, and ensuring the successful promotion and branding of the event across various channels.

This role is ideal for someone with strong marketing and project management skills who is passionate about nonprofit work and enjoys overseeing campaigns from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the overall marketing and communications timeline for the annual fundraiser.

  • Collaborate with volunteers and vendors to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.

  • Set up and manage the event's online registration form using our designated event platform/vendor. Run registration and donation reports and coordinate with Treasurer on event finances.

  • Manage and update the organization's website using Weebly to reflect current event information.

  • Manage and update the organization's Constant Contact database

  • Responsible for sending all communications via the Constant Contact platform

  • Create and publish engaging content across email, website, and social media.

  • Create and manage the Digital Journal for event

  • Design and produce event program and invitation

  • Monitor registration numbers and adjust outreach and fundraising strategies as needed.

  • Design and produce marketing materials (e.g., banner for Post Road, social media graphics, event signage and more) as needed

  • Ensure all materials are brand-aligned and compelling

  • Track all incoming donations and paid advertisements

  • Communicate with donors and ad purchasers; create and place ads using an online platform

  • Prepare materials for event night and support any last-minute needs

Qualifications

  • Experience in marketing, communications, fundraising or event planning (nonprofit experience a plus).

  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Canva) and online platforms.

  • Familiarity with Weebly helpful

  • Proficiency with google docs, sheets, MS Office products

  • Strong organizational, and project management skills.

  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.
