Licensed Perinatal Therapist/Social Worker (Contract)

Position Summary:
Hopeful Beginnings is seeking a licensed, trauma-informed Perinatal Therapist to join our team as an independent contractor. The therapist will provide culturally responsive, client-centered therapy to individuals and/or couples experiencing mental health challenges during the perinatal period. This role is ideal for a clinician passionate about maternal mental health, reproductive justice, and working within a nonprofit, community-focused model.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and/or couple’s therapy to clients during the perinatal period (conception through two years postpartum).
Maintain timely documentation in compliance with organizational standards.
Utilize evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, EMDR, ACT, mindfulness, etc.) adapted to perinatal mental health.
Participate in regular consultation and supervision meetings as required.
Collaborate with case managers, doulas, or other support providers as needed.
Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and professional ethics.
Contribute to a compassionate, inclusive, and nonjudgmental service environment.
Qualifications:
LCSW; LCPC or other licensed mental health professional
Active clinical license in Illinois
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience; perinatal mental health experience preferred.
Knowledge of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), trauma, and attachment.
Strong understanding of culturally competent and inclusive care.
Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload.
Bilingual Spanish preferred
PMH-C (Perinatal Mental Health Certification) preferred or willingness to obtain.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience or 60/40 insurance split.
This is a 1099 contractor position with flexible scheduling.
