Grant Writer (Contract)

Position Description:

TWW is recruiting part-time contractual grant writers to support our nonprofit clients. Candidates must have professional grant writing experience and be open to working on projects that support a variety of missions and causes. Compensation is outcomes based. The specific compensation rate is based on experience, location, and industry certifications. The Grant Writer is a remote, 1099 independent contractor role.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of past experience successfully navigating the grant application process for nonprofits, including successfully researching, writing, and submitting grants to a variety of funders, including private foundations, community foundations, and government agencies.

  • An effective communicator with excellent writing and editing skills.

  • Extraordinary attention to detail and organization.

  • Excellent leadership, time management, and communication skills.

  • Comfortability contacting foundations and grant managers to discuss their processes and assess if a client’s proposed activities are a good fit for the funder’s goals and interests.

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.

  • Experience managing the grant writing process from start to finish is preferred.

  • Degree in Communications, Non-Profit Management, Social Work or a related field; professional degree preferred.

  • Remote work experience is preferred but not required.

Our grant writers work 100% remotely and control their own schedule. You will be responsible for producing all agreed upon written deliverables (LOI, grant proposal, reports, and concept papers) by agreed upon deadlines.

Equipment Requirements:

  • Computer with Windows 8.1 or higher

  • Laser Printer/Scanner

  • Full version of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (2013 or higher)

  • High-speed internet connectivity

  • Two writing samples (grant applications you independently wrote (excerpts or redacted narrative is acceptable.)

  • Three professional references.

Interviews will be conducted remotely via Zoom. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
