Financial Controller (Part-Time)
Strategic Solution Partners (SSP) is searching for a remote, part-time Controller that will work within the SSP organization, has staffing industry background and is interested in growing with the company.
The Controller will contribute to SSP’s broader finance and operations modernization efforts during a period of accelerated growth and digital transformation. As part of the wider team, this role helps build a scalable, data‑driven finance function that supports high‑growth operations, reinforces financial discipline, and enables the organization to expand confidently into new markets and service lines.
This position requires mandatory staffing‑industry experience, strong operational finance capability, and comfort working in a technology‑enabled, fast‑moving environment. This position reports directly to the CEO of SSP.
Job Responsibilities
Create a positive, energetic and respectful work environment within the department
Leads through example, professionalism, personal values, and vision
Eager to offer assistance, “pitch-in”, and to be seen as a team player within SSP.
Management of the entire Finance Department within SSP.
Leads the Accounting Operations & Month-End close
Accounting Oversight & Internal Controls – owns the full accounting cycle
Monitors Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
Budgeting, Forecasting & Operational Finance
Risk, Compliance, Payroll, & Regulatory Governance
Financial Reporting & Data Integrity
Vendor, CPA, and Technology Integration
Business Partnering with CEO to evaluate strategic options & provide executive support
Provides leadership and team development throughout the entire SSP organization
Technical Experience
Intuit Enterprise Suite
QuickBooks
Microsoft platforms (365, Excel, Power BI, Teams, SharePoint)
Act as the administrator for MS/365 functions
Salesforce or similar CRM/ATS integrations
ADP, PeopleEase, and/or comparable PEO, payroll systems
Automation tools and workflow optimization
Qualifications
Mandatory staffing‑industry experience (minimum 3–5 years)
5–10+ years of progressive accounting or Controller‑level experience
Strong understanding of multi-entity accounting
Demonstrated experience with financial controls and compliance
Proven ability to produce accurate, reliable reporting
Experience with payroll, compliance, and regulatory governance
Ability to operate in a high‑growth, transformation‑heavy environment
Ability to adapt quickly and perform under high expectations.
Ability to communicate effectively and work under pressure
Ability to meet deadlines and embrace ongoing change
Requires excellent organization, time management, interpersonal skills.
Must be an ambitious self-starter with a desire to learn
