HITEKS develops software solutions with AI technologies using administrative and clinical data from the EHR including notes, laboratory and vital signs, patient demographics and medications to make clinical documentation integrity suggestions. The CDI and CAPD suggestions (aka queries or clarifications) are delivered to the authoring provider and also the CDS (Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist) in real time within their note writing and chart review workflow, respectively, to consider making adjustments to the content of their notes. The solution integrates with the Epic EHR.
Job Description
Implement and validate HITEKS’ system for new CDI customers and manage existing customers needs to expand their use of the system.
Roles and responsibilities
Work with physician advisors to gather requirements for documentation improvement suggestions and configure the logic into the system using a proprietary configuration tool.
Validate logic configurations by verifying documentation improvement suggestions are accurately determined using proprietary validation tools. This entails reviewing clinical notes and data for patient encounters to determine the validity of the suggestion.
Communicate with existing clients on a regular basis to ensure proper usage of the system and address any roadblocks they may be experiencing.
Work closely with the client’s IT, HIM and CDI staff to project manage the implementation steps for new clients to integrate the solution into their Epic EHR. Including but not limited to setting up interfaces between Epic and Hiteks’ solutions, ensuring proper LOINC codes are set up, completing system configurations and validation.
Create training materials and educate CDS hospital staff on the benefits and usage of the system.
Analyze and use data analytics to guide and/or make improvements of the clinical documentation suggestions.
Requirements
Nursing or Medical Degree
5 years of experience as a Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist for a $1 Billion revenue minimum hospital system
Experience with an A.I. system in CDI is a plus
Excellent communication skills
Experience project managing 3-6 month projects
Work experience in CDI with Epic is required
