Bookkeeping Assistant (Part-Time)
We're a small but growing bookkeeping firm looking for dependable, detail-oriented help. This part-time role will support both day-to-day bookkeeping data entry and monthly review of client books, depending on your experience. We're open to shaping the role around the right candidate — whether you're a junior bookkeeper looking to grow, or an experienced pro wanting flexible hours.
What You'll Do
Depending on your skills and experience, responsibilities may include:
Data Entry + Bookkeeping Support
Record and categorize transactions in QuickBooks Online or Xero
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
Maintain clean, up-to-date books for small service-based businesses
Support monthly close tasks
Review + Analysis
Review client books for accuracy and completeness
Identify and correct miscategorized transactions
Generate reports or dashboards in Excel or Google Sheets
Assist in preparing financials for quarterly reviews or tax prep
What We're Looking For
You don’t need to be an expert in everything — we’re open to early-career or more experienced applicants, but ideally, you:
Have experience with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero
Are proficient in spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets – formulas, pivot tables, simple dashboards)
Understand basic accounting/bookkeeping principles
Communicate clearly and kindly via email and Slack
Are reliable and comfortable managing your time independently
Value accuracy, clarity, and calm (just like we do!)
Bonus Points If You Have
Experience processing payroll or sales tax
Worked in a remote environment before
Experience with service-based or solopreneur clients
A sharp eye for patterns, problem-solving, and process improvement
Details
Part-time: ~5–15 hours/week to start, with potential to grow
Schedule: Flexible during business hours (prefer availability between 9–5 MST)
Location: Remote (U.S. only)
Pay: Hourly, DOE
