Introducing Mother Untitled’s new branding and website.

In January 2017, I launched Mother Untitled, fully aware I was taking on a big conversation. However, with little people in tow, I launched MU as a blog and Instagram feed, planting the seeds for what it could become. I firmly believe that passion projects hold immense power, even if they start small.

For its first five years, the MU website was my happy place and deeply personal. With my own career on hold, I used this space to eagerly explore the career pause for modern mothers. I knew that this seemingly niche audience I was building consisted of a powerful and growing group of mothers who were redefining their identities around work, motherhood, and life. The work and online landscape was shifting to accommodate new ways of making room for what truly mattered.

In 2022, when my children reached school age, and after five years of my own career pause, I finally had the opportunity to invest and grow Mother Untitled into its true purpose: a movement to reshape the outdated narrative surrounding stay-at-home motherhood. This narrative holds modern women back from pausing or shifting their careers without facing penalties and stigmas. Our rebranding reflects this evolution and the next chapter of culture change.

I believe our work as the women that make up the Untitled community is bold and clear, both within the home and online. The choices we make as women to do what’s right for ourselves and our families takes bravery, clarity, and care.

As the first, and largest digital platform with a mission to rewrite the narrative about career pauses and downshifts, Mother Untitled is  dedicated to supporting women in what we call the Untitled chapter–the vast gray area between the old titles of stay-at-home and working mother. I believe our work as the women that make up the Untitled community is bold and clear, both within the home and online. The choices we make as women to do what’s right for ourselves and our families takes bravery, clarity, and care.

Every message I’ve received from readers  over the years expressing validation and support has kept this work going. The community we have built together has become the heartbeat of Mother Untitled, and I am grateful beyond measure that readers like you have found something worthy in our mission.

At its core, the new Mother Untitled website aims to  deliver  the stories you need more easily, whether you’re looking for guidance in setting up your days at home or resources to support your transition to flexible work.

Culturally, the brand redesign was a way of stepping up.

Culturally, the brand redesign was a way of stepping up. We find ourselves at an exciting moment when American culture is finally recognizing that life and career aren't black and white. Caregiving is a substantial responsibility with a significant impact. At this intersection, women have the chance to come together in the in-between and recognize our worth, leaning on our community for confidence, guidance, and clarity. Our redesigned space welcomes more mothers, demonstrating that the woman leaning into family life is modern, ambitious, and inspiring. We are multifaceted and play a big, bold role in this ongoing conversation.

Finally, you’ll notice me saying “our” instead of “my” more. One of the greatest privileges of getting to further this mission outwardly is that behind the scenes it’s made possible by a team of ambitious, modern mothers working entirely in the gray area. You can meet them, explore more about the mission, and stay in touch here. I’m so grateful to be growing alongside each of you.
