Vital Sounds Initiative Program Coordinator (Part-Time)
This is a part-time position, with an expected commitment of 5 hours per week and the potential to grow with additional hours as the program expands, for a dynamic individual to manage the administrative and logistical aspects of Project: Music Heals Us’s Vital Sounds Initiative (VSI) virtual bedside concerts program. The Program Coordinator works closely with the VSI Program Manager and PMHU leadership to ensure the successful execution of all activities.
About Project: Music Heals Us and the Vital Sounds Initiative
Project: Music Heals Us is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality, interactive music programming to marginalized and isolated communities. We believe in the transformative power of music to defy social barriers, build connections, and create compassionate communities.
The Vital Sounds Initiative (VSI) program is a key part of our mission, offering live, virtual music performances provided by a roster of about 20 musicians to isolated patients currently in nine hospitals/healthcare settings. Through partnerships with hospitals and medical facilities, we connect world-class musicians with patients, providing encouragement, education, and healing.
Key Responsibilities
Program Administration & Logistics
Act as the primary liaison between PMHU, partner hospitals, and VSI musicians.
Coordinate scheduling and facilitate communication to ensure a positive and smooth experience for all parties.
Track program impact and facilitate artist payroll processes by collecting program data via established online platforms and channels.
Support the VSI Program Manager in the recruitment of new hospital partners and VSI musicians.
Schedule group concerts and team meetings as needed.
Communications & Content
Request media, collect media releases, and document credit/attribution agreements from hospital partners, musicians, and program participants.
Maintain and organize all media content with clear use and credit documentation.
Collaborate with PMHU staff to select content and create copy for social media and newsletters.
Advocacy & Partnerships
Represent PMHU at meetings, conferences, and public events.
Promote programs and raise awareness of our mission.
Advocate for the transformative power of music in the healing process.
Qualifications
Preferably 2 years of progressive experience in program coordination within healthcare or non-profit sectors.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience managing and mentoring diverse teams of artists and program partners.
Exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations and healthcare professionals.
Familiarity with telehealth technologies and virtual programming approaches.
Passion for music and a belief in PMHU's mission.
