Staff Accountant (Part-Time)

Job Summary

Fortified Accounting is a boutique accounting firm supporting VC-funded startups and growing businesses with clean, accurate, and compliant financials. We’re looking for a Part-Time Staff Accountant with strong NetSuite & QuickBooks Premier Desktop experience who can confidently manage general ledger functions while collaborating with a remote team.

Responsibilities

  • Full General Ledger Cycle: Pre-Close Reviews, JE creation w/ support

  • Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and financial reporting

  • Month-End Balance Sheet Reconciliations

  • Maintain accurate general ledger records across multiple client accounts

  • Accruals: Identify monthly accruals, posting, and reversals w/back up

  • Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Use NetSuite and QuickBooks Premier Desktop daily to maintain accurate client records

  • Communicate clearly with team members and clients in a remote environment (Gmail, Slack, Zoom).

  • Contribute to Process Improvement

  • Document Standard Operating Procedures

What You Bring

  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, ideally in full-cycle GL

  • Current NetSuite Experience specifically in a Staff/Sr. Accountant Role

  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Desktop hosted in the cloud

  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting, reconciliations, and financial workflows.

  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using tools like Ramp, Expensify, Asana, Slack, GDrive, AI tools like ChatGPT to streamline work.

  • Professional communication skills in a fully remote setting.

Schedule & Structure

  • Approximately 20-25 hours per week, Monday - Friday, flexible schedule (OFFICE HOURS: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM PST).

  • Fully remote, reliable internet, and dedicated workspace required.
