Program Officer (Part-Time)

The Rx Foundation is seeking a relationship-driven, strategic Program Officer to help lead our grantmaking and partner engagement efforts.

Do you bring a strong commitment to health justice, experience working with community-based organizations, and a belief in relational, equity-centered philanthropy? This role is central to how we support and learn from our grantee partners.

About the Role

The Program Officer plays a key role in advancing the Foundation’s grantmaking strategy, cultivating deep relationships with grantees, and supporting capacity-building and field-building efforts.

This role leads a portion of the Foundation’s grant portfolio and contributes to shaping organizational strategy, learning, and convening efforts. It requires navigating power dynamics thoughtfully and building authentic partnerships rooted in trust.

This is a part-time (25 hours/week), fully remote position with periodic travel (2–4 times/year).

What You’ll Do

Grantmaking & Portfolio Management

  • Manage the full lifecycle of grants—from application to reporting

  • Serve as primary point of contact for applicants and grantees

  • Conduct due diligence and develop funding recommendations

  • Maintain strong, trust-based relationships with partners

Capacity-Building & Convening

  • Connect grantees to resources, coaching, and opportunities

  • Support workshops, convenings, and communities of practice

  • Collaborate with consultants and partners to deliver programming

Learning & Field Engagement

  • Champion grantee work across networks and platforms

  • Contribute to storytelling, reports, and knowledge sharing

  • Represent the Foundation at events and conferences

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is relational, strategic, and grounded in equity—someone who can balance big-picture thinking with strong execution.

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience (public health, policy, organizing, etc.)

  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills

  • Cultural fluency and ability to navigate power dynamics

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills

  • Curiosity, adaptability, and sound judgment

Compensation & Benefits

  • $66,000–$74,000 (based on 25 hours/week)

  • 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision coverage
