Program Manager (Part-Time)
Cosmic Writers, a nonprofit dedicated to providing youth with high-quality creative writing education, is seeking a Program Manager to join our team. This role is largely remote, with occasional work on the ground in New York City, Philadelphia, and/or parts of New Jersey, depending on the Program Manager’s location/availability. We’re looking to add a team member who believes deeply in the power of creative writing education to catalyze students’ love of writing.
This team member will be paid at a rate of $25-$30/hr for a total of 15–20 hours per week. This team member must be able to spread their hours over at least 4 days during the week to be able to connect with our school partners.
About Cosmic Writers
Cosmic Writers is a registered 501(c)(3) that aims to ensure that every child has the tools, knowledge, and opportunities to write creatively. We have four core programs: Word Camp, our virtual creative writing camp; Cosmic Coaching, our one-on-one mentorship series; activity books with corresponding curriculum and professional development for educators; and on-the-ground workshops for schools, libraries, and community organizations in the tri-state area.
Responsibilities
Manage relationships with partner organizations, primarily schools, libraries, and out-of-school-time education providers
Schedule programs and coordinate logistics between partners and Cosmic Writers
Match qualified instructors with appropriate program opportunities
Provide ongoing support to instructors before, during, and after programs
Troubleshoot issues as they arise (e.g., last-minute rescheduling, instructor delays)
Communicate program updates to Program Director
Direct the collection of program feedback
Contribute to the strategic development of our program offerings
Qualifications
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Problem-solving mindset with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances
Interest in creative writing education and nonprofit work
Reliable access to email, with ability to check at least once daily on business days
Previous experience in education, nonprofits, or program management preferred but not required
Time Commitment
15–20 hours per week
