Contract Grant Writer (1099)

We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer to support proposal development for a nonprofit focused on education, literacy, and family engagement.

This is a content-focused role — the primary responsibility is writing compelling, high-quality grant materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Write grant proposals, letters of inquiry (LOIs), and grant reports

  • Translate program information into clear, persuasive narratives

  • Incorporate relevant data and updated research into need statements

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience writing successful grant proposals for education/literacy/family-focused nonprofits

  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills

  • Ability to work from provided materials and direction (no prospecting or strategy required)

  • Open to leveraging an internal AI tool to support content development

Details:

1099 contract position

  • Rate: $75/hour, depending on experience

  • Flexible, project-based work
