Position Summary
GID Consulting is seeking a skilled and creative Communications Consultant to join our team. This contract, part-time role will support GID’s nonprofit clients by developing and executing communications strategies that elevate their visibility, engage key audiences, and amplify their impact.
The ideal candidate has experience in nonprofit communications, is highly collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute communication plans aligned with client goals
Write, edit, and design content including newsletters, social media posts, campaign messaging, donor materials, and reports
Create compelling fundraising proposals and pitch decks for donor and partner outreach
Support website content strategy and light website design or updates using platforms like Squarespace, Wix, or WordPress
Assist with branding and storytelling efforts that highlight client impact and mission
Collaborate with GID consultants to ensure communications align with development priorities
Manage timelines and deliverables across multiple client accounts
Ensure brand consistency and tone across all channels and materials
Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in nonprofit communications, marketing, or a related field
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences
Experience creating professional proposals, pitch decks, and communications collateral
Familiarity with email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), social media tools, and design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express)
Basic website design or editing experience (e.g., Squarespace, Wix, WordPress)
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a remote environment
Strong collaboration skills and a commitment to equity and community-centered messaging
Compensation & Hours
Hourly Rate: $35/hour
This is a contract, part-time position, with an average of 10–15 hours per week
Hours are assigned by the GID team based on client needs and project timelines
Flexibility required, with availability during business hours as needed
