Campus & Volunteer Programs Coordinator (Part-Time)

About the Kopp Foundation for Diabetes (KFD):

KFD is a youth-led nonprofit empowering the next generation of leaders in Type 1 Diabetes advocacy, innovation, and access to care. With 100+ volunteers nationwide, we’re launching college chapters and youth ambassador programs that mobilize students to drive awareness, fundraising, and innovation.

Role Summary:

We’re seeking a part-time Campus & Volunteer Programs Coordinator to help us scale and energize our network of College Captains, Youth Ambassadors, and volunteers. This role is hands-on: you’ll be engaging directly with student leaders, onboarding new chapter presidents, supporting event planning, and ensuring every chapter has what they need to succeed.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate daily with College Captains and volunteers through Slack and virtual check-ins.

  • Organize and conduct interviews for Campus Chapter Presidents; onboard and mentor new leaders.

  • Guide student leaders in planning awareness and fundraising events (both on-campus and virtual).

  • Support the setup and launch of new chapters nationwide, providing toolkits, templates, and training.

  • Track chapter activity (events hosted, funds raised, volunteers engaged); provide regular reports.

  • Coordinate volunteer communications (newsletters, updates, recognition).

  • Work closely with the Executive Team to strengthen youth engagement and chapter impact.

Qualifications:

  • Background in student leadership, nonprofit volunteer coordination, or youth programs.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; comfortable motivating students.

  • Experience with event planning or coaching others to run events is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Slack, Google Suite, and remote collaboration tools.

  • Passion for youth leadership and advancing health equity.

Details:

  • Part-time, approx. 5–10 hours/week (remote, flexible).

  • Must be available for occasional evening/weekend calls to align with student schedules.

  • Stipend/compensation based on experience.
